What We Do

Our Kiwanis club participates in various projects throughout the year that involve fundraising, community service, and assisting children locally and worldwide.  We engage in several social activities to share experiences, talents, and our collective interests. All represent significant opportunities for service, friendships, and personal growth.

Below are the projects and activities in which we are currently involved:

Community Fair
Provides community members with free health screenings and informational workshops on housing, career, financial planning, immigration, and legal rights.

Mayor and Commissioners for a Day
In collaboration with the City of Lauderdale Lakes, it hosts a mock commission to give children a first-hand look at city government.

Back-to-School Fair
Provides backpacks with school supplies to needy children within the City of Lauderdale Lakes and surrounding communities.

Kids Safety Day
A day of fun for the kids with educational material for parents regarding swimming, home safety and car seat safety.

Save-a-Life Program
Provides hypertension screening and follow-up calls.

Thanksgiving Feeding Program
Provides Thanksgiving baskets to needy families in Broward County.

Christmas Toy Drives
Provides toys to children at Broward General Hospital and Susie C. Holley Cradle Nursery while bringing Christmas cheer through caroling and other forms of entertainment.

Food Programs
On-going program through which canned foods and other non-perishable food items are donated to older adults and veterans in the community, needy families, and community soup kitchens.

Kiwanis Worldwide (Eliminate) Project
Assists Kiwanis International in raising funds of US$110 million to provide an estimated 387 million vaccine doses to eliminate the Maternal/Neonatal Tetanus Disease (MNT).

American Cancer Society
Participates and raises funds for the annual Relay For Life and Breast Cancer walks.

Homeless Feeding Program
Provides food, supplies, and care packages several times yearly to Cooperative Feeding Programs, Broward Coalition for the Homeless, and Life Net 4 Families.
